Collographs involve the participant building textures on the surface of a plate while photocollographs involve peeling away fine layers of a photographic surface. relief print

This weekend course will cover relief print using the traditional method of woodblock print and will focus on the method of three colour reduction printing. Using medite participants will cut into the block, removing some areas to leave others in relief, which will then have ink rolled across them. The block is then printed in the first colour. This process is repeated each time for each colour until the image has been made. Although participants will use the etching press to print their blocks this process is also suitable for printing at home with hand rollers.
