artists statement:

Medium- Photography

                Etching

My works are an expression of the quiet time spent by women in the home at a time of change. Time spent in the home can lead to a sense of contemplation. The light in my images portray the permeability that exists between the domestic and outside space. This is an important element to my work. In some cases I use back lit, slim line, light boxes to express this.

I use a variety of cameras to capture my surroundings, mainly my own home.

Since winning the Bursary 2006-2007 I am introducing more traditional printmaking back into my work, such as Cobwebs, sewing and knitting through the mediums of, Etching, Smart Plate Lithograph, Monoprint etc.
