Artists are invited to submit work/proposals to Limerick Printmakers Open Submission Print Show. 

The exhibition is open to artists working in all areas of print e.g. digital print or mixed media works with an element of print as well as traditional forms. We will accept up to three prints or works from each artist. If an artist wishes to submit an installation with an element of print, then proposals are welcome, provided a detailed proposal and samples of previous work are included in the application. Normally up to 60 works are selected for the exhibition.

The selector for the Open Submission Print Show 2010 is master printmaker Jim Sheehy.  During the 1970s Jim worked in New York printing lithographs and etchings for many of the leading American artists, including James Rosenquist, Sam Francis, Willem de Kooning. He has had solo exhibitions in New York, Dublin, Limerick and Cork and has exhibited in most of the major group exhibitions in Ireland.

Previous selectors include Siobhan Piercy, Head of Printmaking GMIT, printmaker Coilin Murray, Gallerist Chris Doswell, Printmaker Suzannah O'Reilly and most recently Printmaker and Graphic Studio Dublin Studio Director Robert Russell.

Work on show has included prints from artists based in Ireland, Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland, the Netherlands, Canada and America. Also included in previous exhibitions have been a portfolio of prints titled ‘Green Worlds’ by Exchange Partners in Print Media in New South Wales, Australia.
